Teak Wood

Teak is a tropical wood species that has a superb honey brown color. It is a large, deciduous tree and has small, fragrant white flowers arranged in dense clusters (panicles) at the end of the branches. Teak wood is used for making furniture, arts & crafts which require resistance to the elements. Being more expensive than most other woods, teak furniture has become a status symbol. Not only is it common for teak furniture, art or craft to last 70 years with the correct care plan, it is also common to pass down to future generations as an heirloom. Teak wood has a woody, leather-like smell when it is freshly milled.

Teak Tectona grandis (latin) is native to south and southeast Asia, mainly Bangladesh, India, Myanmar. Myanmar’s teak forests account for nearly half of the world’s naturally occurring teak. Molecular studies show that there are two centers of genetic origin of teak: one in India and the other in Myanmar and Laos. Thus, Saigon Elixir Teak wood is popular amongst the noble Indians amongst us.

Middle notes of tobacco leaf and aged teakwood blend into the woody, deep base of sandalwood. Our variation is blended with a hit of rose.
