One of a kind that is our most particular perfume, we have crafted.
Kingwood is a traditional furniture wood, almost exclusively used for very fine furniture or wood art. It was the most expensive wood in general use for furniture making in the seventeenth century, at which time it was known as princes wood. It is brownish purple with many fine darker stripes and occasional irregular swirls.
It is yielded by a smallish tree, Dalbergia cearensis, restricted to a small area in Brazil. Other woods from the same genus are cocobolo, rosewood, African blackwood, Bombay blackwood and tulipwood. The wood is very dense and hard and can be brought to a spectacular finish. It turns well, but due to its density and hardness it can be difficult to work with hand tools. It also has a tendency to blunt tools due to its abrasive properties.
It is available only in small sizes. Occasionally it is used in the solid for small items, luxurious chess pieces, yacht or car interiors, art and decorative works.
TRADITIONAL AND SPECTACULAR
Saigon Elixir Kingwood is particular and mysterious. Our inspiration came from a seventeenth century perfume casket, of course traditionally made from beautiful kingwood. Imagine the scent and smell of an historical kingwooden perfume box, delicate blended with white, amber gris notes, all infused in a traditional sandal base. No wonder our Kingwood is a classic, yet sportive scent.
YOU CAN MIX AND MATCH
Saigon Elixir Kingwood is a blend and is perfect as it is. However, for the curious ones amongst us, we recommend to match with Saigon Elixir white oud, Saigon Elixir White amber, Saigon Elixir Sandal absolute for a more woody environment.
Saigon Elixir Kingwood can be categorized as a typical smoky, tabacco and woody blend.
