The species is also widely cultivated in many places, and is reportedly naturalized in Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Algeria, Florida and the West Indies.
It is also known as summer jasmine, poet’s jasmine, white jasmine, true jasmine or jessamine and is particularly valued by gardeners throughout the temperate world for the intense fragrance of its flowers in summer.
Jasmine Scent
Jasmine has been made into a well-known scent around the world. It was introduced as a perfume in Europe in the 16th century. The flowers create an aroma that exudes a calm atmosphere, relieving mental and emotional strains. Due to the pleasing scent, Jasmin Grandiflorum is commonly made into essential oils, perfumes, soaps and cosmetics worldwide.
Jasmine tea
Jasmine tea is traditionally consumed in China, where it is called Jasmine-flower. Jasminum sambac flowers are also used to make jasmine tea, which often has a base of green tea or white tea, but sometimes an Oolong base is used. Tea leaves and jasmine flowers are put in machines that control temperature and humidity. It takes about four hours for the tea to absorb the fragrance and flavor of the jasmine blossoms. For the highest grades of jasmine tea, this process may be repeated up to seven times. As the tea absorbs moisture from the fresh Jasmine flowers, it must be refired to prevent spoilage. The used flowers may be removed from the final product, as the flowers contain no more aroma. Giant fans are used to blow away and remove the petals from the denser tea leaves.

Jasmine is a fragrance with floral notes, which provides a soothing effect that calms the mind.
Jasmine lends a floral scent that is rich and sweet. To some, jasmine alone is almost too sweet of an aroma. However, when combined with other scents, it is just the right touch.
Jasmine is also considered very sensual
In fact, jasmine is often described as being intoxicating and even exotic. Due to its carnal qualities, jasmine is considered an aphrodisiac in some cultures. Hindus and Muslims regard jasmine as the perfume of love, used for relaxing the body and lowering emotional borders, both of which are needed when engaging in intimacy.
